Nunavut, one of Canadas lagest territories, started accepting gay mariages that were performed outide their territory, on October 30th, 2003. But, would not legalize gay marriages for their citizens.
Canadian Inuit who dominate Nunavut, do not approve of homosexuality. They think of it as a white mans culture and is unfamiliar to them.
Gay marriage became legal in Nunavut when the new Civil Marriage Act became law on July 20th, 2005.
Since the whole nature of homosexuality is rare in this part of Canada, there are few locations to be married. You can be married though at any clerks and deputy clerks of the Court of Queen's Bench.
