Gay Wedding Locations In The State Of Oregon
On March 3rd, 2004 The Multnomah County government begins issuing licenses for same-sex marriages, pursuant to a legal opinion issued by its own attorney stating such marriages would be lawful under the law at that time. On March 9th, Multnomah County Circuit Judge Dale Koch refuses to issue an injunction stopping the ceremonies.
The State Legislature's attorney Greg Chaimov issues an opinion, stating that counties in Oregon cannot prohibit same-sex couples from receiving marriage licenses.
But, after all the great strides in those short days, the Oregon Supreme Court wiped it all away and ordered all marriage licence's issued to same sex couples were not valid.
Although with a new constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriages, there are still some great locations to to have a civil union or commitment ceremony. Listed below are a few of those locations.
