Gay Wedding Locations In The State Of Virginia
Virginia, is another state, where there will be a vote in the November, 2006 elections, to see if they add a gay marriage ban into the states constitution. Gays have not been allowed to marry in the state since the passing of a law defining marriage as between a man and a woman, which was passed in 1997.
Unfortunately, the constitutional amendment is written so broadly, that it could technically affect heterosexuals that live together, but are not married. Here is the section in question. " This Commonwealth and its political subdivisions shall not create or recognize a legal status for relationships of unmarried individuals that intends to approximate the design, qualities, significance, or effects of marriage?"
Although it is against Virginia state law to marry, there are still beautiful locations to have a commitment ceremony. Below are listed a few of these locations.
